Where might be a good place to get a couple more good size fish this week? I'm on vacation and am open to suggestions.
The last time I went out, about a month ago, I tried some spots that looked real good but only caught gars and 3-4 pounders. Then I figured, I'll just fish where there is no structure, a least likely spot, and my buddy, MikeB, caught a nice 12.9 pounder.
Also, I'm thinking 'bout chasing some hybrids too..
AM OPEN TO ALL SUGESTIONS AND COMMENTS!
THANKS |

| Hey fish hook. My buddy and I got two big blues last night 6-22...one was 28 lbs and the other was 36 lbs. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. Both caught on big bull shad...it did not matter if they were alive. We hooked into a bunch of big ones that we lost. We ended up running out of the bull shad so we were using small shad and getting some smaller 5-6 pound blues and one channel cat. We have been getting the most action starting around 8 pm. Need to be in around 4 foot of water. We couldn't keep up with the bait clickers...lots of action. Good Luck. |

That's an awesome catch
I'm on vacation the next couple of weeks and think I'll try some night fishing
Give me a shout if you go back out in the next couple of weeks, maybe we can team up on them.
I went ouit last week and had a heck of a day.
I lost a $100 anchor so I went in the water looking for it but no luck. I searched for the anchor in 7 ft of water (my FF said it was 5 ft) and just after I got out of the water, one of my 12 lines started screaming near where I was searching. I pulled in a 9 pounder and a couple of 3 pounders.
The water had gotten real calm when I caught these and I noticed dark clouds in the distance so I turned on the radio and they said some 60mph winds were heading my way. I got my poles in and hauled a$$ to the ramp.
Just before I got he boat on the trailer, the 60 mph winds hit me and was blowing the boat away. So I gassed on it and got on the trailer sideways and tore up my trailer guide poles that I'd just installed a week earlier. With the boat on the trailer sideways, I was able to jump out and hook the winch strap up. Then I pushed my boat back off the trailer a little and winched it in.
Close call
Everything ended up safe so that's the important thing.
Will post pics of the 9 pounder when I get a chance . |
