| I hate fishing. Whoever said the cold months is when you catch all the fish needs to come fishing with me in the freezing cold so I can laugh at them catching nothing, lol. |

You might try walking down the bank to another location if possible. |

| I kept 2 channels and a blue yesterday for 8.5 pounds stringer weight.. A 14 inch channel was released. The interesting thing was that two of the fish bit within 20 minutes of putting fresh bait on the limb lines. |

Are your neighbors leasing the "TAKE AREA", (the property between their property line and the water)? Even if they are, you might knock on their door and ask if it would be okay. It would be good for their property value if you could catch a big fish behind their house. You could give them a pic of the big fish that was caught using familiar landmarks from their property in the background.
Otherwise, you might get yourself a big 10-12' Surf rod and heavier weights so you can throw over the submerged logs. Be sure to keep the rod tip up high when reeling it in to keep it above the junk on bottom. |

FB, the winter & spring months can definitely bring in the better fish. I think frigid days that deep water is your better bet. Winter days with south winds and warmer temps they can definitely move shallow though.I learned to fish on Hubbard and fished the same spot every time I fished. Learned through trial & tribulation that the fish were there and would bite at certian times due to wind ,weather, seasonal catfish behavior & time of year. When springtime hits shallow water is a great choice . Your back yard would seem to be good for spring and warmer weather winter daysfrom what I can tell. Here are a few locations to add that you can basically drive to and fish although you may have to do some walking to waters edge.
Where I learned to fish:

A good cold winter spot with north wind on the same location on the Forney side of the "GONE" bridge:

Here ar some good springtime spots:

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=32.89148,-96.547084&spn=0.001097,0.00283&t=h&z=19
Due to private property ,Hubbard can be difficult from the bank but hopefully this can get you in a few more fishing locations! Hope any of this helps and Great luck to you |

| I have always heard in that area in the mid winter months its best to wear a BIKINI while you catfish it has always helped me lololol mainly in the crowds it kinda gets people to move away hahahaahaha...I grew up fishin in the area you have there at one time there was two tree rows coming out from your yard and several of these were bois.D'arc I wonder if they are still there other than that there was a pretty much smooth bottom from the point at the start of the levy to the first creek close to 66 ramp.We always drift fished in summer time from the road to your area. |

| I wore jeans and a jacket today and caught two channels for a stringer weight of 4.5 lbs. Caught on ultralite R&R using raw bacon. They were under stick ups near the mouth of Muddy Creek. The water at the north end of the lake arms warms first since it's shallow and the south wind pushes warm surface water to the north. My limb lines stopped producing. |
