Well, I took a few new customers out for what I thought would be a great day of fishing. I ran out for a few hours Friday night and marked the hybrids down around the gravel pits and submerged road area, picked up a few on slabs so I knew they were there.

Left the dock at 6:00 on the dot. No wind so I pulled out the binoculars and didn't see anything besides carp rolling....flew around the lake and nothing going south of 30. Proceeded to head south to the pits and drag some live baits and toss some slabs around. Went to the pits and nothing...I mean nothing. Didn't mark the bait and fish I marked 12 hours earlier.

Lots of boats on the water but nobody really seemed to be killing them (I am sure there were a few out there). All in all only about 20 sandies and 4 hybrids (one about 24"). Got a few small cats and a nice crappie on the submerged road. White slabs seemed to outproduce the chartreuse slabs for the past few trips. Hybrids have mostly been of Robertson point area and had one just south of the gravel pits suspended.

Also, had some guy in a bass boat pull right up behind me, pull out his little handheld GPS (about 10' off my stern while we were drifting live baits) and marked the spot I was on. Now instead of asking me how things were going on where we caught fish (which I would gladly share with anyone) this num nuts just marked me and went on. Now not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but just p'd me off. Learn how to read a map and you can see where I fish, not rocket science.

Probably laying low the next few days and I have an after work trip later this week with some repeat customers and will be on the water I am sure this weekend.
