I was using my casting net to see if any shad were shallow in the lake behind my house and ran into a big surprise.
It was pretty dark when I caught it and I thought it was a big bass at first. I missed one just before I got this.
I took it inside the house to show the family and then turned it loose.

The friday before the Lavon Catfish tourney, I went out to the pavillion/boat ramp in rockwall @ Hwy 66 and caught a huge buffalo fish with my casting net.. It was probably 8-10 pounds. I was hoping to catch some big shads or a carp for the catfish tourney. I promptly filleted the little monster and had some good cutbait for the next day...and for a while. I thought it was a carp but my partner in the tourney informed me of the difference. Now I know.
We caught 2 catfish on the buffalo cutbait. |
