The last couple of weeks has been some of the best catchin since last year. The top water bite is on and the hybrids are on the war path. You dont have to go all the way to the dam for action. Up in the east fork trinity river that runs between Lavon and Hubbard is some of the best hybrid fishing on the planet when the gates are open at Lavon in springtime. You can usually find a bend that has some calm water just past the bend in the river but the idea place to do some catchin is where the water creates a circular motion, it can be a half circle and most of the time you can spot these holes by the whirl pool. If you have good electronics find the deeper holes just out of the main current and either drop a live shad or anything that looks like it might be a shad and get ready for some drag taken catchin. I never kill hybrids intentionally. I enjoy letting them go so they can grow up and bite my sons live shad or lure next year when they are bigger. Its a lot of fun but be careful on the river when the current is moving, that current is probably 10 times more powerful than you think it is, Outlawadventurestx.com
Check out the Dallas Morning News article by Ray Sasser where he writes about the catchin and adventure he went on with Outlaw Adventures 469-671-7335

Thank you! I had two clients this morning and there is nothing to report. The shad were literaly running up on the shore with nothing chasing them. The only bite we were able to get was catfish. At least we were able to put something in the boat.
