Anyone fished here? I went to BPS yesterday and popped by this place. Looks pretty protected from teh wind. There were a few cormorants roosting, and there where lots of trees that looked like they might hold crappie. Not to mention bridges.

Anyone had any luck in this area?

The wind was howling and their must have been 3' swells on the main lake. At the ramp, it was pretty calm. That's important in my boat. Very Happy

That has been a favorite launching site for me . the only drawback is when the wind is from the north east. it becomes very difficult to load and unload. you have no problem as long as the lake level is up. when it gets down below 4 ft. you can still launch just stay away from the center. it has a wash out. I have not heard of a security problem DPD is in their almost hourly. I have met a lot of very nice fisherman at that ramp.

Thanks! Have you fished in this area? I noticed a bunch of catfishermen on the bank. Looks like some scattered trees out there and the map shows deep water to the SE toward the main lake. Just looks real fishy to me.

Without giving you my specific location yes yes. some very good cat fishing in that area. also croppie fishing will be good when the spawn starts . just a note be aware when you're in this area a lot of monofilament line in the water . it will play H with the lower unit seals I know from experience . although I do my own work on the engine. I truly hope this gives you the information you need.

Can you give me some general locational information for Crappie?

Looks like the timber would be good, the bridges, and the drop offs near deep water.

Are there any specific shallow locations that are good producers? Marinas? North bridges?

Guess I need to go there and motor around.

Anything I need to watch out for stump wise?
