I am putting a johnson 115 on an old boat my dad had sitting around. Here is the deal, I have it mounted to the tranasom and it started right up, but it does not pump water that i can tell. I do not want to let it run too long for fear of getting too hot. Does the motor have a thermostat, and will not pump water until it opens or do i need a new impeller?

Sounds like the impeller to me, but it could be something else blocking the flow. Rollies in Farmersville or Larry's in Plano are both good and reasonable. Both are honest, will give you free advice, and good estimates.

I got to working on it this morning and went and got an impeller, it looks to be working. I need to take it out on the lake before i do any more work on it cosmetically. I still need to replace all the wood in it due to rot. I will keep these numbers on hand incase i need them. Thanks steve-o
