I just moved on the water on Hubbard and got my dock built so once I find a good spot I will post it. I have not been out on my boat yet this year. I do fish from my dock and I have caught some good ones there on the North side of the lake in the sticks,. |

Catfishhunter..you need to have at least 6 rods and rod holders. I have 15 and usually use 10-14 rods.
The best thing you can do after that is use fresh shad and spend time on the water, aka.TOW
I've been skunked many days on Hubbard but get lucky sometimes. North of the golf course in the stumps and brown weeds/grass is what you are looking for. Select a spot with a clearing plus the stumps. Throw lines out, tighten lines and wait for no longer than 30-45 minutes if no bite.
I use 30lb line, 2oz weight, 60lb 2' leader |

| I have 7 reels but only 3 rods, are you buy yourself with all those rods in he water and once? I will use my fish finder and drop fish until I build some more rod holder because I dont think that these three will hold up. You'll see me there in my cajun boat blue and sliver. Thanks all |

| I tried the sticks where the picture is but I didn't get a single bite. I was using fresh buffalo. I really want to catch some because I owe someone a bunch of catfish meat! lol |

Yes, I usually use a bare minimum of 8 rods but usually 10-12 rods. See pic below. Notice I have rod holders all around the boat and lines are thrown out all the way around the boat. When drifting the setup will be different. I put all the rod holders on one side and throw my lines out in a staggered fashion. One line will be way out there and the one beside it will be closer to the boat. I get MOST of the BIGGEST fish way out there, 120-200 yards, while drifting.
I have some extra rods that I started out with a couple of years ago and no longer need. They are nothing fancy but will help you get started.
I'll let you have them for $5 each. I think I have 3-4 rods.
I will be on Hubbard today and tomorrow. I'll PM you my # if you want to give me a call.
Probably won't be catfishing unless I run into some bait. |
